Project 6: Second Progress Review

  1. Hi Olivia,
I think this is a really cool topic. I think that these images capture a mood of nature and discovery with the different perspectives/POVs. It’s like the mirror is a portal and there’s another world inside of it, which makes a cool illusion.

    1. I think this one is very nice because you can see the reflection of a different environment behind it. Something I might change is cutting the top part off, but other than that I really like it.

    2. This one is interesting because you can see the shadow in the grass of the thing being reflected. I really like that part of the image and how when you look at the mirror compared to the background, it’s like the sky is coming into the ground and creating a different world.

    3. I like your third image a lot because of all the lines interacting and moving my eye around. The illusion here is very successful.

    4. For your fourth image, I think I would try tilting the mirror or camera a different way because I think the image would be better if a different environment were reflected into the mirror, rather than the same image of a tree.

    5. Your fifth image works nicely and provides a sort of civilization verses nature and we are able to see both sides of that. I like how you captured that road in the background and how it curves around making my eye move around that area.

    6. I would probably not include your sixth image in the essay unless you could find something happening in the mirror so it’s not the same photo reflected in the mirror. I also think it’s a little repetitive of the image above.

    7. I love this one! You created a very interesting illusion and it’s very successful. There are many ways people could view this image.

    8. This one is very nice too! I love how it’s the two different environments in the image.

For sequencing I would put together the same type of environments together and make the mirror travel to different areas. For example, it can go from the dock picture to the water picture, to the grass picture, to the woods, to the mirror being next to a road or reflecting a road, etc... to show the journey of it.
